Manson原名Brian Warner,成长于典行的美国破碎家庭，自幼便困在地牢，被一堆堆杂物困绕着，家人从不关心他，甚至将他当成玩偶，种种不幸令Manson眼中不再有神，看见的只有创伤，在他的心路历程里只有人间的痛苦与丑恶，因此，他的摇滚哲学是离经叛道反基督。
1998年他推出了一本名为《The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell》的自传，很多年轻女孩为了得到他的亲笔签名，不惜在寒冷的3月徘徊在受书场，一等就是数十个小时，可见，这个乐队在乐迷心目中的地位之高绝不亚于当年的Nirvana！

乐队共有五名成员组成，除主唱Marilyn Manson外，还有吉他手Zim Zum,鼓手Ginger Fish键盘手Madonna Wayne Gacy,以及低音歌手兼贝司手Twiggy Ramivez。有意思的是每位队员的名字皆由一美女及一变态杀人狂组合，主唱Marilyn Manson便是由Marilyn Monroe (玛丽莲.梦露）加Charles Manson(超级杀人王），又如键盘手Madonna Wayne Gacy ,亦是由Madonna （麦当娜）与John Wayne Gacy（曾杀死3名男童）混合而成。

Marilyn Manson今年的最新大碟还是会令喜欢MM的歌迷们收藏，新专辑依然保持着以往的音乐风格外还添加了许多音乐元素，值得庆幸的是，新专辑变得与以往不同了，这是一个新的起点，容易接受且令人兴奋。半数曲子是些闹剧般割裂的华丽片段；而另一半，却是些更黑暗、更怪异、更美丽的精心之作。其中第五首歌Suicide Id Painless 听起来很悲伤、很惨烈，以最佳状态行进。
《The Black Album》专辑中表现出的自我膨胀、冷酷和麻木也许是一种成名的哗众取宠的策略。但他并没有固步自封，正是这种原因他自已都有可能并没有意识到的强大力量改变了他，也许是他天性使然，Marilyn Manson已经意识到，他有点过头了。
